Vans Black Jacket
1996 AQHA Black Mare
Vans Black Jacket, whom we call Jackie, came to
us in a trade, in August of 2004.
She'd been passed around quite a bit and
was covered with open sores from flies
and other biting insects and she was
very distrustful of humans.
Because of her breeding, her color and her "eye",
we went ahead with the trade and we're thankful we did.
It's taken a long time to get Jackie healed up:
She got daily baths and rubdowns with some
awesome goop from Arkansas, lots of talking to and
quiet handling and she now looks forward to scratches and attention
from her humans. Her coat has grown in,
good and thick (though still a little discolored) and
her mane and tail are now growning back.
She looks like a horse again.
